Our first two trips were to Chicago, and this year we decided to head to Minneapolis. It worked out perfect. Two weeks ago Aaron didn't have school on Friday, so we left that morning and headed for the City. Oh how we love to go on road trips and have no specific agenda. You should try it some time if you haven't!
Friday we spent in the city shopping. Ikea was definitely one of our stops, where we bought a few things for the baby room. We ate dinner at a Mediterranean Restaurant where Aaron had a Lebanese plate and I had a Greek plate. This is another one of our loves, eating different unique food. Sometimes you just have to try something other than the all-American steak or hamburger!! It's worth it.
Saturday we drove to Winona to see Aaron's brother Neal. He is currently working as a grad assistant there. We visited his cute little apartment and then toured the Winona State campus. The rest of the day was spent chatting and relaxing at a local Cafe/Coffee House. Sunday we journeyed home.
On our way home we stopped in Ames to see my family. We toured my brother's new home that they are in the process of building. Our trip was finished with dinner at Hickory Park with my two brothers, my sister-in-law Steph and my three nieces.
It was a good trip for us to relax and regroup as we faced the next week of busyness.
