Last night before going to bed, I told my husband that I wasn't totally convinced that the bat wasn't in our room despite leaving our door closed all day. Sure enough, I woke up at 1 a.m. to go to the bathroom only to see and hear the bat flying around our bedroom. Keep in mind that our door is shut and the ceiling fan is on, so the bat is flying REALLY low. Again, like the night before, I throw the sheet over my head in frustration and fear and roll over to wake my husband. He strategically exits the room to go retrieve the tennis racket. I, in the meantime continue to hide under the bed sheet with my eyes peaking out.
Aaron returns and hands me Easton. I take Easton into his nursery where we think it is safe. I kept the light on hoping that if the bat was in Easton's room, it wouldn't make an appearance. Aaron is all the while tearing our bedroom apart in search of the bat. I continue to sit in Easton's room and eventually fall asleep in the rocking chair. At 3:30 Easton awakes crying. Frustrating since he has been sleeping through the night for the last week! I feed him, and decide to camp out on his floor for the night.
Aaron is now lying on our bed in the dark waiting for the bat to reappear. The unfortunate thing is that Aaron had his first day of school today, and so needed some sleep. He said he slept with one eye open and woke up every half hour. I am not so sure, because there was no captured bat this morning! I guess he needed the sleep. This whole time I am trying to sleep on the hardwood floor in Easton's room wondering if maybe I should just go back to my comfortable bed. I awoke to Aaron kissing me good-bye this morning at 6:45.
Keep praying that this bat exits our house or we capture it SOON!
