Two weeks ago we took a little road trip to Dallas and experienced the Texas State Fair. It has been our tradition, since Aaron and I started dating, to go to the Iowa State Fair every August. This year we missed out as we moved at the end of July.
Easton sizing-up to "BIG TEX!"
Easton loved feeding the animals in the Children's Barn.
He was so brave and experienced petting a Sting Ray. He was so proud, but pulled his hand out as quickly as possible after it swam by!! It is so much fun to watch him learn and explore new things. His face gets so animated and excited. (he takes after his dad!)
You can't go to ANY state fair these days and not find fried food. The Texas State Fair has a competition every year of the best fried food; similar to the food on a stick at the Iowa State Fair. This year the winner was Buffalo Chicken in a Flapjack with syrup for dipping. For those of you Northerners, a flapjack is like a pancake. It was delish. For those of you wondering, it didn't taste like a pancake at all. The other two we tried were Hans' Kraut Ball and Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Neither one was anything special.
I guess we wore him out! At nap time he asked to take a nap and was zonked out for about two hours. Do you think he could get any more comfortable?
Always fun to get away as a family and enjoy new things.
