My apologies to all of you who actually read this blog. The last four months has been a whirlwind of moving, spending time with family, packing and moving again. Free time to blog about our lives has been scarce! But no worries, we are back on the grid!
I thought I would start with a recap of our summer. Better late than never, right?
We had the joy of spending our summer days in Iowa!! It was a joy for me to be back home and experience some of the familiar faces, events and sites where I have spent my entire life, minus one year!!
We were blessed to be able to live close to family while we were back.
Easton spent lots of time practicing on his new Strider that Nana and Papa bought for him to enjoy while we were visiting. It is a bike with no pedals so that you learn to balance.
He's already asking for a bike for Christmas!
If you grew up in Iowa, you know that it isn't summer without eating Sweet Corn!
Easton shucked (with some intensity on his face) and ate his first sweet corn.
Mmm Mmm Good!
Our family just can't stay away from the baseball field! On a HOT evening in June, we headed to watch the Cedar Rapids Kernels. We arrived early and Easton was asked to be part of the "Future Players" team. He said he wanted to be a pitcher, so before the game he got to stand on the pitchers mound with the starting Kernels pitcher. Before the pitcher joined him on the mound, he just stood there and soaked in his surroundings. He spotted me and Aaron and gave us a thumbs up like he was big stuff. He was even on the Big Screen for awhile.
We had the incredible blessing of living in a water front home on Lake MacBride. We did our best to take advantage of swimming off the dock, floating, fishing and paddle boating with Aunt Katie.
Oh the sweet days of summer.
