It's that time of year again. The chill is in the air; the snowflakes dust the ground; tiny lights sparkle on each house; the smell of evergreen fills each room; the fire crackles and we wait in anticipation for the greatest gift, Jesus!!
We spent the past weekend decorating and preparing our house for Christmas!
Easton helped in picking out the perfect tree to bring home!! (actually he enjoyed playing with the rocks more than anything!)

I enjoyed decorating the outside of our house with fresh evergreens, boxwood and berries; the perfect combination for winter window boxes.
I have a love/hate relationship for this time of year. I LOVE the sounds, tastes and smells of the season; fresh cut evergreen, CHRISTmas music softly playing, cinnamon candles, the soft glow of white lights, the smell and crackles of wood burning in the fireplace, the cozy feel of being safe in warm in our home as the snow falls.
I LOVE the reason we celebrate CHRISTmas; the true story of Jesus coming to this earth as a precious baby. The beginning of the best story ever told.
I HATE the way the world has distorted Christmas, along with every other holiday. The hustle and bustle brings stress to every ounce of my body. The jolly ole man dressed in red makes me sad. The excess of presents under the tree makes me wonder WHY.
Yes, I have been called the grinch, but my heart desires that we could have a deep understanding of who we are celebrating and why.
Easton placed the star on top of the tree with perfection.
